River Valley Lions Seniors Complex Sod Turning Event was held to initiate a new 7-unit affordable housing project, finically supported by both Federal and Provincial governments.  The ongoing site preparations have started the project by providing new engineered fill adjacent to the River Valley Lions Community Centre and Lions Field on Inglewood Drive.

Dignitaries taking part in the sod turning were: The Honourable Greg Thompson, Minister of Veterans Affairs, the Honourable Mary Schryer, Minister of State, the Honourable Jack Kier, Minister of Energy, Mayor Grace Losier, Lions Club President Allain Gautreau and Chair of the Building Committee, Harriet Hutchinson.  The new units are expected to be completed in the spring of 2007.
