HERITAGE MEETING

The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield Tourism Committee is working on an exciting project this year to begin to tell the story of our heritage. We plan to identify local sites of historical interest and will then work with the New Brunswick Department of Heritage who will assist us in interpreting some of these sites.

Our committee will then explore ways we can showcase and promote the sites to locals and visitors to our beautiful community. We would like to hear from you. We know that many of you have a wealth of knowledge of sites in our community where historical events happened, information about the settlement of our community or maybe where a particular business was located but was closed, for example, we’ve been told there was a brewery in our area a number of years ago.

We do have access to printed resources and will certainly use those in this project but our biggest resource is you. We invite you to join us at a meeting on November 18th from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm in the Pamdenec Room (Upper Level) at the Centrum to share your stories and to help us in identifying these sites of interest.
